This video compares the performance difference between Lollipop 5.1.1 Kitkat 4.4.2 and Marshmallow 6.0 on my Moto G 2013 through benchmarks and app opening speed tests.

All the phones are using freshly installed Stock Android Roms (AOSP) and all the app versions were same. I also cleared the recents panel before I launched the test.
It might seem that I clicked on kitkat earlier but its not the case the mouse click is recognised faster on kitkat!
This will get you a rough idea about the differences in performance of apps on daily usage of phones.
The apps used were
1- Antutu
2- Quadrant
3- Nenamark 2
4- Facebook
5- Play Store
6- Youtube
7- Google+
8- Temple Run
9- Subway Surfers

How i recorded this video?
I flashed AOSP rom each time (3 times) on my phone and recorded it separately. I used a mouse attached using an otg cable to my Phone.I syncd all the videos using the mouse clicks recorded. These tests will be quite accurate!
Huh , It was tough work! You can share it with your friends !
I have previously made video on kitkat 4.4.4 vs lollipop 5.0.2 vs lollipop 5.1.1 and lollipop 5.0.2 turned out to be the slowest! so i didnt include that in this test.
I didn’t take benchmarks into perspective because they don’t tell much about the actual performance of the apps and the phone. If there are bottlenecks they might show high results but the actual performance might not be good.
The performance of Kitkat was a bit better than Marshmallow 6.0 and lollipop 5.1.1 but Marshmallow is still a good choice considering the fact that Marshmallow has better battery backup and Ram management!
